The documents are the National Security Strategy, the National Counter-Terrorism Strategy as well as the National CyberSecurity Policy and Strategy.
The unveil of the documents was a part of the program of the Council of State Meeting which is ongoing at Aso Rock in Abuja.
Nigeria’s past heads of state, comprising the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.). Meanwhile the ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo is not there.
The other participants are 28 governors of PDP and APC ruled states as well as the deputy governors of Oyo, Borno and Abia states.
President Jonathan clarified the Boko Haram terrorism as the key threat to national security, regretting that the group had continued the wanton disruption of lives and property in the three north-eastern states of Adamawa, Yobe and Borno.
The head of the country stated that the terrorists were out to undermine national security as they did not believe in Nigeria nor in the sanctity of human lives.
He explained that the counter terrorism strategy document was a major contribution to national efforts towards effectively and comprehensively dealing with the challenges posed by Boko Haram and other terrorist groups.
