There Is No Hell Fire; Adam and Eve Not Real – Pope Francis Reveals

Posted By: Mercy - 12:17 AM

One man who is out to open many old "secrets" in the Catholic church is Pope Francis. Some of the beliefs that are held in the church but contrary to the loving nature of God are now being set aside by the Pope who was recently name The Man of The Year by TIME Magazine.

In his latest revelations, Pope Francis said:

"Through humility, soul searching, and prayerful contemplation we have gained a new understanding of certain dogmas. The church no longer believes in a literal hell where people suffer. This doctrine is incompatible with the infinite love of God. God is not a judge but a friend and a lover of humanity. God seeks not to condemn but only to embrace. Like the fable of Adam and Eve, we see hell as a literary device. Hell is merely a metaphor for the isolated soul, which like all souls ultimately will be united in love with God."

In a shocking speech that is reverberating across the world, Pope Francis declared that:

"All religions are true, because they are true in the hearts of all those who believe in them. What other kind of truth is there? In the past, the church has been harsh on those it deemed morally wrong or sinful. Today, we no longer judge. Like a loving father, we never condemn our children. Our church is big enough for heterosexuals and homosexuals, for the pro-life and the pro-choice! For conservatives and liberals, even communists are welcome and have joined us. We all love and worship the same God."

In the last six months, Catholic cardinals, bishops and theologians have been deliberating in the Vatican City, in discussing the future of the church and redefining long-held Catholic doctrines and dogmas. The Third Vatican Council, is the largest and most important since the Second Vatican Council was concluded in 1962.

Pope Francis convened the new council to "finally finish the work of the Second Vatican Council."

The Third Vatican Council concluded with Pope Francis announcing that…
Catholicism is now a "modern and reasonable religion, which has undergone evolutionary changes. The time has come to abandon all intolerance. We must recognize that religious truth evolves and changes. Truth is not absolute or set in stone. Even atheists acknowledge the divine. Through acts of love and charity the atheist acknowledges God as well, and redeems his own soul, becoming an active participant in the redemption of humanity."

One statement in the Pope's speech has sent traditionalists into a fit of confusion and hysteria…

"God is changing and evolving as we are, For God lives in us and in our hearts. When we spread love and kindness in the world, we touch our own divinity and recognize it. The Bible is a beautiful holy book, but like all great and ancient works, some passages are outdated. Some even call for intolerance or judgement. The time has come to see these verses as later interpolations, contrary to the message of love and truth, which otherwise radiates through scripture. In accordance with our new understanding, we will begin to ordain women as cardinals, bishops and priests. In the future, it is my hope that we will have a woman pope one day. Let no door be closed to women that is open to men!"

Mrs. Banda is heading to Lagos , where she will be staying for 3 days as the VIP guest at Pastor TB Joshua' s Synagogue of All Nations, to receive prayers for herself and her small country.

TB Joshua' s Synagogue has been a favourite destination of some African leaders, including the late Professor Atta Mills of Ghana.

Governor Ameachi denies impregnating Soyinka’s daughter

Posted By: Mercy - 7:38 AM

The governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi, has debunked speculations that he impregnated a daughter of Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka.

The governor denied the rumour through his twitter handle on December 18. PREMIUM TIMES became aware of the tweets Saturday morning.

There had been rumours that a daughter of the Nobel Laureate was expecting a child for Mr. Amaechi and that she was already living in the Government House.
It was further alleged that the governor's wife, Judith, had fled abroad following the domestic challenges she was having with her husband.

It was claimed that the absence of the First Lady gave Mr. Soyinka's daughter the opportunity to establish her full presence in the Government House.

But in the tweet, Mr. Amaechi debunked the rumour, saying it was a big lie, which was part of the ongoing campaign to smear his image.

"That rumour about me and Prof. Soyinka's daughter is a big outrageous lie. It's certainly part of the ongoing political campaign to smear….."

In another tweet, the governor said his marriage to his wife was intact, adding that they both love themselves.

"…..me and Prof. Soyinka. I have never and will never assault my wife Judith. I love her so much and she loves me too. Our marriage DEY KAMPE. (Top Form)."

On December 24, the governor tweeted a touching birthday message to his wife Judith. The message was accompanied by a romantic photograph, with the governor wrapping himself around his wife.

"Happy birthday to the most beautiful, loving, caring, trustworthy woman alive – my beloved wife and mother of my children, Judith. You've been a pillar to me, my partner through thick and thin. I love you so much my darling," he wrote.

He posted the same message to his Facebook page.

Mr. Soyinka appears to enjoy warm relationship with Mr. Amaechi.

In July, after an open-door lecture series tagged: "WS79 – Memoirs of Our Future: An Audience with Prof. Wole Soyinka," which held at the African Centre in Covent Garden, London, to commemorate his 79th birthday anniversary, the Nobel Laureate told journalist he was Mr. Amaechi's friend just as he was to other public officers.

Responding to a question on whether he was a friend of the governor, following his spanking of Nigeria's First Lady, Patience Jonathan, Mr. Soyinka said, "That Amaechi is my friend is not an allegation."

He said he would be friends with anyone who has been given the mandate of the people through the electoral process.

He added that he would not shy away from identifying with public office holders if they were fulfilling their obligations and responsibilities of governance.

"To say the Governor of Rivers is my close friend is like saying Kayode Fayemi or Dr. Babangida Aliyu or Governor Ibikunle Amosun or even the Second Republic Governor, Mohammed Shugaba, in Shagari's administration, is my friend," Mr. Soyinka said.

He, however, pointed out that "it's not a matter of friendship," but defence of democracy and truth, noting that he would not be afraid to switch loyalty if the people he once praised change their ways and start oppressing the same people who elected them.

Super Eagles Will Win 2014 World Cup If… – Guru Maharaj Ji

Posted By: Mercy - 8:35 PM

In what appears to be a dicey pronouncement which many may want to question, the Spiritual Leader of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, who against all odds predicted victory for the Super Eagles at last Nation's Cup has again stirred the hornet's nest with his prediction that Nigeria will lift the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

He made the comment in his Spiritual Village, Ibadan while speaking with our correspondent during an exclusive interview on plans to mark his spiritual birthday on January 1, 2014.

However, his latest prediction was predicated on some conditions. "I have said it and nothing will change it. If the Super Eagles handler, Stephen Keshi, shows more love to Maharaj Ji, the true name of the Almighty. He will lead the team to victory that will shock the world.

"I want him and top shots of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to visit Maharaj Ji Village and let us have a discussion. Let them come and put Maharaj Ji's power to test. I cannot be here and Nigeria won't be able to conquer the world.

"I told them before that Eagles will win the Nation's Cup and so it was. The powers of Chukwujekwukwu will touch the players again and they will have strength to run faster as children of the light than any other team at the tournament. Nigerians should come and avail themselves of the opportunity of the power now.

"Keshi should humble himself more. I foresee the cup coming to Nigeria in 2014. Nigerians should stop doubting because the Living Perfect Master is talking. I think by now government in its own wisdom would have shown appreciation to me for the victory of Eagles at the last Nation's Cup. They should know that it is only by encouraging me that they receive more,"

Satguru Maharaj Ji said. "Gone are the days when Africans were rated as push over in football. "Today, the black man is leading the world spiritually. That is why I am here as the Messiah of this era. Let the people try the power in Maharaj Ji Village and see if they will not be marveled.

"The players, particularly the goal keeper, should avoid wearing blue jersey which was one of the things that caused initial problems for the team during the Nation's Cup before an NFF top shot got across to me to intercede. Blue is the colour of mermaid. That is not ideal for any progressive development.

"I have said it loud and clear that the cup is within reach and definitely it will come to Nigeria if the sports administrators and the coaches take the advantage. I cautioned Samson Siasia, the former Eagles' handler, but he retorted saying 'is Satguru God'? That affected him and he was booted out. However, not only the Super Eagles, tell other national teams to come and receive the power to excel and it shall be well with them at any tournament."

Brazil 2014: Super Eagles Michael Babatunde hopes to play against Messi

Posted By: Mercy - 11:26 PM

Nigeria's last group match will be against Argentina.

A Super Eagles forward, Babatunde Michael, has stated that it would be a great feeling for him to play against Argentine football great, Lionel Messi, at next year's World Cup in Brazil.

In a chat with PREMIUM TIMES on Wednesday in Lagos, Babatunde, who is fondly called 'African Messi' by his fans in Nigeria and in Ukraine where he plays for Premier League side Volyn, admitted that he needs more hard work to realize his dream.

"Of course it will be good to play against a player like Messi at the World Cup, you know my fans call me African Messi and I know they will be happy to see me rub shoulders with a player like Messi at the World Cup," he said.

Babatunde also said though Nigeria's Group F, which includes Bosnia, Iran and Argentina, would be tough, the Eagles will qualify with hardwork.

The Super Eagles will start their campaign in Brazil 2014 with the match against Iran, before taking on Bosnia. The last group match will be against two-time world champions, Argentina.

Letter to Jonathan: Al-Mustapha challenges Obasanjo to public debate

Posted By: Mercy - 8:32 PM

Mr. Al-Mustapha said he has forgiven everyone involved in his incarceration.

The former Chief Security Officer to late Head of State, Sani Abacha, Hamza Al-Mustapha, has reacted to postulations by former president Olusegun Obasanjo in his famous letter to President Goodluck Jonathan that he (Al-Mustapha) was released from prison to help the president train assassins to eliminate opposition politicians.

Speaking to the Hausa Service of the Voice of America, VOA, monitored in Abuja on Wednesday, Mr. Al-Mustapha challenged the ex-president to a public debate on the allegations he raised.

Mr. Al-Mustapha said he was away in India receiving treatment for injuries he sustained while in detention during the administrations of Abdulsalami Abubakar and Mr. Obasanjo when he heard of the allegations via a letter published exclusively by PREMIUM TIMES.

"I read Obasanjo's letter and subsequent comments by Nigerians, I would have responded immediately, but I was away in India receiving treatment," he said.
He also said although his name was not mentioned in the letter, he was sure the former president was referring to him.

"If he has anything to say on me, he should mention me directly or even challenge me and not make allusions," Mr. Al-Mustapha said.
The former presidential security chief challenged Mr. Obasanjo to publicly ask him anything; saying he would provide him with answers.

Mr. Al-Mustapha swore that the allegation that he is being used by Mr. Jonathan to train assassins is false. He said he has always been in the vanguard of coming to the aide of people from the north to be recruited into the military and para-military agencies; and would therefore never involve himself in anything that would hurt the region.

"Perhaps it is Obasanjo and his cronies that are planning what he was insinuating," he added.
I have forgiven all

Mr. Al-Mustapha said he had decided to forgive all those who had a hand in his incarceration when he was being tried for the murder of Kudirat Abiola, wife of the winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Kudirat Abiola. He was initially convicted for the murder by a Lagos High Court but was discharged and acquitted by the Court of Appeal.

He, however, added that such people, including Mr. Obasanjo failed to accept that fact and still harbour fears about him and what he knows about them.

"I urge everyone to pray for Obasanjo to accept my challenge for a public debate so that the truth will come out," he said.

Mr. Al-Mustapha said he is focused on helping Nigeria find its rhythm by uniting the people, especially the youth and the poor.

"From 1974 to the present, a lot of things are buried with all sorts of lies. But all would be revealed one day," Mr. Al-Mustapha said.

EXCLUSIVE: My ordeal in the hands of kidnappers — Ex-CAN President, Peter Akinola

Posted By: Mercy - 8:27 PM

A former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN), Peter Akinola, who was kidnapped by gunmen on Tuesday, and freed later that day by a search party led by the Ogun state Governor, Ibikunle Amosun,  has narrated his ordeal in the hands of his abductors.

Speaking exclusively to PREMIUM TIMES at his Abeokuta residence on Wednesday morning, shortly before he headed out to church for Christmas service, the retired primate of the Anglican Church said the gunmen pounced on him and his driver as he was leaving this foundation's office along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

He said the four-men gang blocked his car, and pulled him and his driver out at gun point. One of the bandits then took over the steering wheel while another member pinned down the cleric and his driver at the back.

Two other gang members followed behind in a Toyota Primera car they brought for the operation.

"We could not even identify the road the bandits were taking us through as we were ordered to lie face down or else they would blow us up," the former CAN leader said.
As Mr. Akinola and his driver were held to the ground, the car continued to navigate territories unknown to the clergyman and his driver.

Mr. Akinola believes the gunmen could have driven him and his driver around for about 100 kilometres before their eventual release.
As they drove along, the abductors began making demands for ransom, to be paid in dollars, Mr. Akinola said.

"As the unpleasant journey was on, the bandits requested ransom in dollars, threatening that failure to offer the foreign currency would attract death," the retired prelate recalled. "But I told them am a retired pastor living in the village and that I don't have money, that I live on pension, that I' am building the centre with the help of friends around the world and that I don't have money."

Mr. Akinola said the gang then ransacked the vehicle and when they didn't find any money, they, in disappointment, decided to release their captives.

"After about a 100-kilometer journey, they stopped and asked us to come down, in an area we don't even know the terrain," he said.

"The gang then asked us to go into different directions into the bush.
"I took to the right hand side, while my driver took to the left hand side, and we had to use our hands to clear the bush, while the gang later left with the car. I just kept praying for safety," the cleric said.

He said some minutes later, he found himself on the main road and that as he was wondering about the "angel" that would take him home, a detachment of police officers arrived, firing gunshots.

"I  saw a police vehicle coming and there were gunshots, and the police team later came to rescue me from the spot," Mr. Akinola said.

Mr. Akinola commended the police and the Ogun state governor for promptly swinging into action to rescue him and his driver.

"The police honestly impressed me, they did wonderfully well," he said.

"I have to praise them, and I appreciate the governor who left his work to the bush looking for us. It's unprecedented for a governor to personally lead a team into the bush. He risked his life and yet he didn't mind that. I' am deeply touched and impressed."

Mr. Akinola beamed with smiles for most of the time this interview lasted and his narrations were intermittently punctuated with praises to God.

The driver, Jonah Amodu, in his own narration, recalled that he was about to take off with his boss, when he noticed a strange car a distance away, with four men inside.
He said the driver of the car suddenly stopped with two gun-wielding men jumping  out.

He said he was ordered out of the driver's seat while one of the men took over the steering of the primate's Land Cruiser Jeep.

"They ordered me and my oga to lie face down at the back and immediately drove off," Mr. Amodu said. "We didn't even know where we were heading to. I was even hit with gun on my back as they asked us to cooperate with them."

Mr. Amodu recalled that after the long unpleasant journey, the bandits at a point dropped them and asked him and his boss to take different directions into the bush, stating that, it was a place he could not even identify if taken to the area any other time.

"I trekked inside the bush, before luckily I got to a road, and then later located an Anglican Church in the area, where I narrated our plights to the church officials who immediately rose up to the challenges, contacting relevant personalities before our final rescue," he said.

Jonathan to spend at least N1.5 billion for another presidential jet

Posted By: Mercy - 4:18 PM

There are currently about 10 planes in the presidential fleet.

The Presidency is set to increase the number of private jets in the Presidential Air Fleet by purchasing an additional aircraft in 2014. The proposal for the new aircraft has already been included in the proposed 2014 Appropriation Bill submitted to the National Assembly.

Details of the budget proposal laid before the two chambers of the National Assembly last week by the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan, revealed that N1.5 billion was proposed as deposit for the purchase of the new aircraft. The proposal was included in the budget of the Presidential Air Fleet under the Office of the National Security Adviser, NSA.

The presidential fleet also proposed to spend about N747 million to take care of its aircraft fuel cost during the year.

Though further details of the planned acquisition were not immediately available as top officials in the presidency who should know were not willing to comment on the issue, it was gathered that new aircraft would be the 11th in the luxurious presidential fleet.

Other proposals in the budget include the plan by the presidency to purchase a new embalming machine for the State House, Abuja, for which a budget of N1.65 billion has been made.

Another N17.5 million has also been set aside by the presidency for the provision of magnetic resonance imaging, MRI, building and mortuary conversion machine; as well as N1.3 billion for the construction of the VIP wing of the State House Medical Centre, Abuja.

In addition, about N17.5 million would go for the construction of hospitals and health centre in the State House, apart from N37million set aside for wildlife conservation purposes in the Presidential Villa.

Another N70 million would be spent for the building and installation of oxygen and other gases generating plant at the State House; N50 million for the completion of the extension of dental wing at the State House Medical Centre; N6 million for two sauna baths; N5 million for a wildlife capture equipment, and N14.5 million to purchase two wildlife animals not mentioned in the budget.

The upgrade of Villa facilities would gulp about N1.5 billion; upgrade of Villa Telecommunication Exchange and spare parts would take N220 million; and about N215million would be spent on remodeling of the new guest house for the vice President at Yakubu Gowon Crescent, Asokoro.

About N50 million has been included in the budget for improvement of electrical installation in the State House Banquet Hall; N15 million for renovation of Horses' stable/paddock; N8 million for the upgrade and maintenance of Villa Zoo, while N1.8 million would go for six wardrobe/towel shelves for the presidential lodge.

As part of the ongoing reform in the power sector, the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, which transmits generated electricity, has been allocated about N24.9 billion for its operations in 2014.

The Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, successor generation companies also have an allocation of N1.143 billion for the year.

Tinubu to Obasanjo:: "OBJ should go away and retire in shame politically.
"What integrity has Obasanjo in terms of his legacies for Nigeria to speak on elections?

Apart from his aborted third term ambition, he brought about and left a legacy of electoral corruption in the country.

What is Obasanjo talking about? He should go away and retire in shame politically. He should leave the political landscape of this country alone.

He brought a whole salad of corruption, manipulation and failures." - Asiwaju Bola Tinubu (APC Leader).

How I Found Christ And Left Nollywood – Charles Okafor

Posted By: Mercy - 6:04 AM

True fans of the Nollywood actor have been wondering why their best man has been off scene, you don't o need to worry any more, he's finally broken the silence. Actor, Charles Okafor has opened up on why he's been lying low for a while. Okafor, a Nollywood veteran popped up at a popular event in Lagos and disclosed the reason why he's been off the radar for a while.

The actor told The Entertainer that it's because he's found Christ: "I've been lying low for a while because I diverted into Advocacy and human-angle films as a consequence of my new found faith. I'm still a career actor and a film maker but I am mindful of the scripts I do. A time come in the life of any professional when he seats back and takes stock of his professional issues and the legacy he want to live behind from the spiritual stand point of view.

"You cannot just do any kind of film anymore if you're going to be the light to the nations of the world. We must be seen in the context of the things that glorify God in totally," Okafor declared.

"I'm driven to do advocacy films because they address social issues, human angle and spiritual issues that borders on the kingdom. That explains why I might not be as visible as I was some years back.

According to the actor: You see, you cannot eat your cake and still have it. You cannot serve God and serve Marmon. You must clearly define where your stand. I have put my hands to the plow so I shouldn't look back but that those not remove the fact that I'm still a career actor and film maker," Okafor added.

Kemi Olunloyo is the daughter of a former Oyo state governor, Victor Omololu Olunloyo and below is what she said about Pastor Adeboye.

Cultist and G@y Pastor PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE will be in Ibadan Monday.

Since he is coming to leave my city with his CURSE, I hope his private plane crashes on take off at Alakia if curses rain that day. Post a comment and try disrespecting my views on my page and you will see the block button fast.

Do you think Adeboye is an overstretched modern cultist who sells pure water, bread, schools with N635,000 a term tuition filled with cocaine addicted children and simply turned his congregation into religious bondage? The church is a business and not a place to fool and lie others.

[Must Read] Open Letter to Wizkid, Olamide, Iyanya, et’all Nigerian Artistes this Festive Period

Posted By: Mercy - 5:53 AM

Dear Nigerian Artiste,

It is Christmas season again, that blessed season of giving, getting…and attending shows and concerts. I don't need to wish you a merry one because I know that by now the state of your bank accounts has told you all you need to know about how merry or not it will be.

This seems to be a season of letters, yes I know, and even more intriguing of leaked ones. I assure you, this letter is different. If it ever gets leaked, know I had no hand in it. It could just be the handiwork of my detractors and political foes.

You are probably wondering who I am and the reason I have chosen to write you a letter rather than tweet at you or send you an email or a text. Wonder no further, you and I know you will never reply me. I am not a celeb. I digress.

So, how many concerts have you signed up for this period? Your account manager at the bank should by now be delirious and you already checking out rides at Coscharis. Bulletproof BMW 7 series maybe? That shouldn't be an issue now, aren't you all Princesses and Princes? No pun intended here.

I have a question by the way. How do you plan to make these concerts rock? Like make them totally unforgettable, make them headline grabbing and stuff? Have you been rehearsing with your band?

Say what? You don't know what a band is?

So how do you plan to make it worth the while of fans who pay huge amounts for tickets and who take the risk of coming to crowded venues and willingly inhale a toxic mixture of second hand smoke, mouth and body odour? And probably get fondled by jagudas all in the name of jumping up and down to the sound coming from the loudspeakers?

Oh? You plan to get a DJ to play your CDs while you lip synch along? Come on! You have to agree that is unfair, unethical, unprofessional, mediocre, untenable, une….. ok let me stop.

It will do you a world of good if you read this letter carefully and take some of the advice and criticisms that will flow from it under advisement.

Your fans are getting smarter and more demanding by the day. A day will come when they will rather listen to the radio or sit in their cars or homes and just flip through CDs, than come to your concert. At least it is you performing (we hope), and of course cheaper, more convenient and less stressful, than struggling to get into VIP at Eko Hotel.

Laziness is the only reason I can think of that will make you, a professional artiste (I definitely can't refer to you with the more particular title of Musician, you cannot convince me you are one yet) perform from CDs at a show. Your counterparts abroad take time out to have sessions with bands (whether theirs or rented) in preparation for concerts and tours. They don't rely on DJs. At worst, DJs are a backup. This actually applies to Hip-Hop artistes too.

Instead of giving a show that will make you go down in history and be hailed a legend like TuBaba or be referred to as good concert material like Asha, Omawunmi, and Waje, you will rather stand inebriated in front of hundreds (maybe thousands) of fans and have the gumption to turn back at a likely equally stoned DJ, screaming at him or her "DJ track 7…no! no! that is track 6, I want track 7". Not good at all. You should aim for better quality.

Imagine if in the middle of you rambling through a track we all have concluded you performed in the studio while recording, the DJ mistakenly pulls a cable and the only gadgets left working are the microphones and we (including your dazed self) find out that you weren't uttering anything all evening? That you have instead been busy just throwing in the occasional "yaw! yaw! Put ye hends up!! Lagos are you happy??!!!!" Dude come on! How can Lagos be happy after you have been found out to be scamming them? Lesser things have led to concert riots in other places. This picture I painted recently happened to one of Nigeria's top gospel artistes after collecting 500,000 naira as performance fees from an hapless church. Is what you collect really a performance fee or merely an appearance fee. We need to be clear on this point.

Let me park this letter here. I have had the chance of seeing quite a number of Nigerian concerts; either physically or on TV and I can safely say one more time that artistes of now are largely a lazy bunch. Your concerts merely feed on adrenalin that makes it look like the fans are getting value, not the quality and sheer artistry of your live performances. You all need to fix up.

I can count on my fingers the number of artistes who can actually pull off a concert with a live band. Many of you very likely don't know the lyrics of your own hits and you many times in those concerts default to pointing the mic at us poor fans so that we can help you insert the forgotten words. Too poor! Fix up else you will have to rely solely on the number of CDs that Obaino and the rest of the Alaba gang can make us buy to make ends meet.

While I believe you will, after reading this missive, make changes and ultimately get more professional; accept the assurance of my highest regards.

Kollington Ayinla Confirms He's Broke & Puts Up Part Of Alagbado Mansion For Sale..

Posted By: Mercy - 5:40 AM

Fuji Maestro Alhaji Rasak Kolawole Ilori, otherwise known as Kollington Ayinla in a new interview with Encomium Weekly opened up about his ailing health and dwindling income.

2013 has come and almost run out, how would you access the year?
It has not been a rewarding year for me. I only thank God that I am still alive.

It was reported days back that you have put this mansion for sale, how true is it?
It's true.  When you don't have money, you use whatever you have to get what you want.  I don't
have money, and I need money.  I can't just be looking at the building, I can't eat it.  I need to convert it to money.
But not the whole property that I want to sell.  It's just this uncompleted structure directly opposite us (shows reporter the building).  I need to make that clarification so that people out there won't be misinformed.  I am only selling part and not all the property here.  This is where I live.

A couple of months back, it was reported that you're seriously ill.  They even said it was a strange ailment and that you're hospitalized in a private hospital and all that.

What's the truth about the whole thing?
What happened was that most of your people don't do their investigations very well before writing their stories.  I left hospital a long time before they reported that I was sick.  They even said a governor's wife visited me at the hospital and when she was leaving her car killed somebody along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway and many other things that are not true.  I had left the hospital for about two months back.
Even the day the story was out, I was in Osogbo, Osun State performing at an event alongside Musiliu Haruna Ishola.  The effect of this, is that if anybody wanted to invite such an artiste for a show, they would consider meticulously because they may also believe the person was truly sick.  That's unfair.

What was the nature of the sickness?
I had ulcer and typhoid.

But we learnt it was a strange ailment and not all that medical…
(Cuts in) Yes, it's a strange ailment.  It's spiritual.  That's the best way of describing it.  But I thank God I am still alive.  My health condition then was worsened by the poor economic situation of Nigeria, nothing is working.  Everything is paralysed. I kept thinking to the extent that I wanted to sell my property.

If the government had not turned everything upside down, people like myself are not supposed to be suffering like this.

I released a lot of albums to inform Nigerians about the happenings in the country and even beyond.  In an ideal society, the government owes people like us a great responsibility.

I Will Not Deny My Letter - Iyabo Obasanjo Tells Family Members

Posted By: Mercy - 8:59 AM

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo's first daughter, Iyabo, has refused entreaties by family members, friends and political leaders to withdraw her statement disparaging her father.

In her statement exclusively obtained by the Vanguard newspapers, Iyabo Obasanjo described her father as a liar, manipulator, megalomaniac, narcissistic, two-faced hypocrite determined to foist on President Goodluck Jonathan what no one would contemplate with him as president.

She also ruled out further communication with her father till death.

And to dismiss insinuations and other reports in the social media that she was not the author of the statement, Iyabo insisted that she did not tell anybody to deny the statement on her behalf.

"Nobody can say that I told him that I didn't write it. I am not a liar. I will not back away from what I wrote and there is nothing that is there that is a lie," Iyabo told the paper.

She disclosed that she decided to break away from her father after realising that he cannot change from his manipulative person she had known all along, adding that throughout last year she did not speak with her father.
She started speaking with him recently.

"The last time I spoke to him was three days ago and I decided that I was not going to speak to him again after that. That was the communication through which I realised that this man would never change from manipulations for himself," Iyabo told the paper.

P.M.NEWS gathered that Senator Iyabo Obasanjo, who is in the United States, refused various entreaties by friends and family members to deny the statement by refusing to carry her telephone calls.

Iyabo is not the only Obansanjo child that has denounced him.

Gbenga, his first son, had sometime ago expressed his frustration in a 50-paragraph affidavit before a court in Lagos detailing how his father slept with his estranged wife, Mojisola.

Gbenga was seeking to divorce his wife who he got married to on 29 April, 2000.

In the 10th paragraph of the affidavit signed by Emankhu Addeh, of Addeh and Associates, legal practitioner for the petitioner, the petitioner averred "that he knows for a fact that the respondent, his wife, committed adultery with and had an intimate, sexual relationship with his own father, General Olusegun Obasanjo, due to her greed to curry favours and contracts from him in his capacity as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria."

He said Mojisola also got rewarded for her adulterous acts with several oil contracts with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, from his father, among which was the NNPC consultancy training in supply chain management and project management awarded to her company, Bowen and Brown.

In Bitter-Sweet, My Life With Obasanjo, Oluremi, the wife of Chief Obasanjo, also emphasised the former President's hatred for his family when she said:
he told me to wait for him. When he emerged, he was in shorts and a short sleeve shirt. He slapped me twice and ran after me as I fled down the stairs…Throughout his tenure as Head of State, Obasanjo also ensured that I was not given any allowance as his wife. What he gave with one hand, he retrieved with the other.

It rained cats and dogs the day Obasanjo handed over to Shagari at the Race Course, Onikan, Lagos, October 1, 1979. He asked me to move to Abeokuta with him but I declined because of his extra-marital indiscipline.

When he was being drawn out of the Army, I was in the same car with him. When we went for thanksgiving at Owu Baptist Church, Abeokuta, I was also in the same car. At the church, I sat with him on the front pew. During the reception I was in control of events and sat his mistresses with other guests as their importance demanded.

I made Stella take one of the middle seats with her friend, Julie Coker. After the ceremony, I told my husband that I had risen to the top with him by the grace of God.

Now, I was giving him a free rein to misbehave with his mistresses as I would not stay with him at Abeokuta. He begged me earnestly not to leave him alone. He said he had not finished his house at Victoria Island, Lagos, wondering where I would stay. I still kept my flat on Lawrence Road, Ikoyi.

Obasanjo did not forgive me that I did not live with him in Abeokuta. He stopped taking care of the children, probably thinking I had a lot of money. He only sent N400 a month.

Iyabo and Busola were at Queen's College, Lagos; Segun was at King's College. I was now torn between raising my children and running the farm. Sometime in 1981, Gbenga and Enitan were due to return to school at Corona after the long break.

When the school fees were not forthcoming from their father, I went to the late Simbiat Abiola for assistance. She prayed that God would help. I later sold off my gold bangles to Alhaja Abdulraq, a jeweller, to raise the fees.

My topsy-turvy relationship with Obasanjo continued. He would drive past Oduduwa Crescent without checking on his children, who were progressing in education. Iyabo, Busola and Segun were making excellent grades at school. I was struggling to make ends meet."

How To Know She Is a ‘Runs Girl’ Without Meeting Her In Person

Posted By: Mercy - 6:56 AM

Her online picture centers less on her facial beauty, she focuses more on showing to the world her feminine possession and endowment: hips, hot body, b0s0-ms etc.

Her profile pictures do not in anyway 'synergies' with the various locations as portrayed in the pictures: some of the pictures conspicuously show her in different room locations and arrangement (only those with critical pictural* analysis can spot this).

When you add her as a friend on Badoo or other social network, it will take her nothing less than 30 minutes to reply your message. (This shows that many clients are lined up online), and even when she replies you, her reply sometimes is a let down from your painstakingly written introduction.

When you tell her you are interested in her and you would love to be her friend, she goes like, "Friend as in, what do you want?".

Some of them after accepting your friend request would simply reply to your numerous questions with this sentences: Badoo - 'What is your desire?' BBM - 'What do you want from me?' Facebook - 'What can you offer?' and on it goes…

She only gives you little attention when you lie to her that you work with some of the well known and respected companies and business brands in Nigeria.

When you try to see how naughty she can be by sending her le-wd and r-aw messages, she simply replies your message with this, 'till you come'.

She is a sleeping devourer who only gets awakened and alerted by money and all the good things that come with it.

Actor Jim Iyke Involved In A Fight In Accra Over $10,000

Posted By: Mercy - 6:57 AM

This morning, Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke was in front page of different newspapers in Ghana well, not for the right reasons though.

The actor was alleged to have been involved in a fight at a café over monetary dealings he was arrested and later released by Ghana police.

Here's The Ghanaian Times Newspaper report;

Nigerian movie star, Jim Iyke, was involved in a brawl yesterday at the Crave Cafe at Adjiringanor, East Legon in Accra.

According to an eyewitness account, some people were eating at the cafe at about 5pm when a stout gentleman in a black Range Rover with a Nigerian number plate parked by the cafe.

Arriving in his Sports Chevy with a Nigerian number plate 20 minutes later, Jim Iyke got engaged the man in a heated argument over $10,000 which later turned into a nasty brawl on the street.

The eyewitness further explained that it became difficult for those around to separate the two, and at a point, Jim Iyke wanted to get into his car to pull out something which was suspected to be gun, but he was prevented by those at the cafe.

The other man left but returned shortly with two policemen, one in mufti and the other in uniform who arrested Jim Iyke and took him away.

But the eyewitness told The Ghanaian Times that barely 20 minutes later, the actor resurfaced at the venue, which created the impression the case had been "settled" by the two policemen.

The Legon Police Commander in a telephone conversation with the paper said, the men he dispatched to the scene after receiving information found that people around were reluctant to give the police in-depth account of what actually transpired and so they were unable to bring the two men to the police station.

Iyabo Obasanjo writes father: Calls him liar, manipulator, hypocrite

Posted By: Mercy - 5:43 AM

Continues from Iyabo obasanjo writes father, says: 'Dear Daddy, you don't own Nigeria

Getting back to my mother, I still remember your beating her up continually when we were kids. What kids can forget that kind of violence against their mother?  Your maltreatment of women is legendary.

Many of your women have come out to denounce you in public but since your madness is also part of the madness of the society, it is the women that are usually ignored and mistreated. Of course, you are the great pretender, making people believe you have a good family life and a good relationship with your children but once in a while your pretence gets cracked.

When Gbenga gave a ride to help someone he didn't know but saw was in need and the person betrayed his trust by tapping his candid response on the issues going on between you and your then vice-president, Atiku Abubakar, you had your aides go on air and denounce the boy before you even spoke to him to find out what happened.  What kind of father does that? Your atrocities to some of my other siblings I will let them tell in their own due time or never if they choose.

Some of the details of our life are public but the people choose to ignore it and pretended we enjoyed some largesse when you were President.

This punishing the innocent is part of Nigeria's continuing sins against God.

While you were military head of state and lived in Dodan Barracks, we stayed either with our mum in the two-bedroom apartment provided for her by General Murtala Mohammed or with your relatives, Bose, Yemisi and your sisters' kids in the Boys Quarters of Dodan Barracks. At QueensCollege, I remember being too ashamed to tell my wealthy classmates from Queen's College, Lagos we lived in the two room Boys Quarters or in the two room flat on Lawrence Street.

No, we did not have privileged upbringing but our mother emphasized education and that has been our salvation.  Of my mother's 6 children 4 have PhDs.  Of the two without PhD, one has a Master's and the other is an engineer.  They are no slouches.  Education provided a way to make our way in the world.

You are one of those petty people who think the progress and success of another takes from you.  You try to overshadow everyone around you, before you and after you.  You are the prototypical "Mr. Know it all".  You've never said "I don't know" on any topic, ever.  Of course this means you surround yourself with idiots who will agree with you on anything and need you for financial gain and you need them for your insatiable ego.  This your attitude is a reflection of the country. It is not certain which came first, your attitude seeping into the country's psyche or the country accepting your irresponsible behavior for so long.

Like you and your minions, it's a symbiotic relationship. Nigeria has descended into a hellish reality where smart, capable people to "survive" and have their daily bread prostrate to imbeciles.  Everybody trying to pull everybody else down with greed and selfishness — the only traits that gets you anywhere. Money must be had and money and power is king. Even the supposed down-trodden agree with this.

Nigeria accused me of fraud with the Ministry of Health.  As you yourself know, both in Abeokuta and Abuja I lived in your houses as a Senator. In Lagos, I stayed in my mum's bungalow which she succeeded in getting from you when you abandoned her with six children to live in Abeokuta with Stella.

I borrowed against my four-year Senate salary to build the only house I have anywhere in the world in Lagos. I rent out the house for income.  I don't have much in terms of money but I am extremely happy. I tried to contribute my part to the development of my country but the country decided it didn't need me.  Like many educated Nigerians my age, there are countries that actually value people doing their best to contribute to society and as many of them have scattered all over the world so have many of your children.

I can speak for myself and many of them; what they are running away from is that they can't even contribute effectively at the same time as they have to deal with constant threats to their lives by miscreants the society failed to educate; deal with lack of electricity and air pollution resulting from each household generating its own electricity, and the lack of quality healthcare or education and a total lack of sense of responsibility of almost every person you meet.  Your contribution to this scenario cannot be overestimated.

You and your cronies mentioned in your letter have left the country worse than you met it at your births in the 1930's and 1940's. Nigeria is not the creation of any of you, and although you feel you own it and are "Mr Nigeria" deciding whether the country stays together or not, and who rules it; you don't.  Nigeria is solely the creation of the British. My dear gone Grandmother whose burial you told people not to attend, was not born a Nigerian but a proud Ijebu-Yoruba woman. Togetherness is a choice and it must serve a purpose.

As for Nigerians thinking I have their money, when it was obvious I was part of the Yar'Adua (government's) anti-Obasanjo phenomenon that was going on at the time. The Ministry of Health and international NGOs paid for a retreat for the Senate Committee on Health.  The House Committee on Health was treated exactly the same way. The monies were given to members as estacode and the rest used for accommodation, flights and feeding.  While the Senate was on the retreat in Ghana, the EFCC asked the House Committee to return the monies they received for their retreat and asked us in the Senate to return ours on our return which I refused, as it was already used for the purpose it was earmarked for in the budget that year which was to work on the National Health Bill.

The House Committee had not gone on their retreat. I did nothing wrong and my colleagues and I on the retreat did our work conscientiously. I asked the EFCC not to drag my colleagues into it and I am proud I suffered alone. As is usual in a society where people who are not progressive but take pleasure in the pain of others, most Nigerians were happy, not looking at the facts of the matter, just the suffering of an Obasanjo.

As the people that stole their millions are hailed by them the innocent is punished. When the court case was thrown out because it lacked merit even against the Minister, no newspaper carried the news. The wrongful malicious prosecution of an Obasanjo was not something they wanted to report; just her downfall.

But it really wasn't about me, it was about right and wrong in society and every society gets the fruit of the seeds it sows.

How do you think God will provide good leaders to such a people? God helps those who help themselves. I have realized that as an Obasanjo I am not entitled to work in Nigeria in any capacity.  I am not entitled to work in health which is my training, or in any field or anywhere in the country or participate in any business. I have learnt this lesson well and there are societies that actually think capable, well-educated people are important to their society's progress. Apparently, unless I am eating from the dustbin, Nigerians and possibly you will not be satisfied.  I thank God it has not come to that based on God-given brains and brawn.

When I left Nigeria in 1989 for graduate studies in America, you promised to pay my school fees and no living expenses. This you did and I am grateful for because, working in the kitchen and then the library at University of California, Davis and later, working on the IT desk and later as a Teaching Assistant at Cornell gave me valuable work ethics for life. I wouldn't have it any other way.  As a black woman in the early 21st century, I have achieved much and done more than most. My wish is that black girls all over the world will have the capacity to create their lives, make mistakes, learn from it and move ahead.

Moving back to Nigeria, thinking I wanted to serve was obviously a grave mistake but one brought about by the tragic incident of April 20, 2003. This was the day five people were shot dead in my car.  The mother of the children was an acquaintance I had met only one day before the incident.

We had attended the same high school and university but she was there ten years earlier than I. She had also studied public health in the UK as I had in the US. It was these coincidences that made us connect on our first meeting and then she decided to visit on the Saturday of the election of 2003 when the incident occurred. I am scarred for life by that incident and I know the mother was too as we both looked back to see two men on each side of my car shooting.

I understand her trauma and her behaviour since then can be judged from that. Nigeria is a nasty place that pushes people to lose their compass. I participated in the campaigns leading to the elections that day, more because this was my first experience of electoral process in Nigeria. Growing up there were no elections and I was too young in the 1979 and 1983 elections.
It was interesting to see democracy at work.  When Gbenga Daniel who I campaigned for offered me a job, I probably would have declined it, if not for the memory of the dead.

I felt I had to engage in making the country progress and to avoid such incidences in the future.  I don't need to tell you or anyone what kind of governor and person Gbenga Daniel is.
As usual when I found out, you would not listen to my opinion but found out for yourself. I also campaigned for Amosun for the Senate in 2003. I have had some wonderful Nigerians do good to me, I will never forget the then Minister of Women Affairs, who saw me talking in the crowd at a campaign event and was alarmed and said "bad things can happen to you out there, I will give you one of the orderlies assigned to my office to follow you".

This was the police man that died in my car that day.  I never really thought bad things would happen to me, I moved around freely in society until that shooting scarred me and I accepted a police detail.  I was constantly scared for my life after that.

You called me after your vengeful letter as usual, looking out for yourself and thinking you will bribe me by saying the APC will use me for the Senate. Do you really know me and what I want out of life?

Anyone that knows me knows I am done with anything political or otherwise in Nigeria.  I have so much to do and think to make this world a better place than to waste it on fighting with idiots over a political post that does no good to society.  That letter you wrote to the President, would you have tolerated such a letter as a sitting President?  Don't do to others what you will not allow to be done to you. The only thing I was using that was yours was the house in Abuja where I left my things when I left the country. I eventually rented it out so that the place would not fall apart but as usual you want to take that as well. You can't have it without explaining to Nigerians how you came about the house?

As I said earlier, this is not about politics but my frustration with you as a father and a human being.  I am not involved with what is currently going on in Nigeria, I don't talk to any Nigerian other than friends on social basis.  I am not involved with any political groups or affiliation.  You mentioned Governor Osoba when you spoke to me, yes I was walking down the street of Cambridge, Massachussets a few months ago, when I looked up and saw him reading a map trying to cross the street.
I greeted him warmly and offered to give him a ride to where he was going.
This I did not do because I wanted anything from him politically but because that is how I was raised by my mother to treat an adult who I really had no ill-will towards. Some said he was part of the people that manipulated the elections for me to lose in 2011. I don't have any ill-will to him for that because I think they did me a favour and someone has to win and lose.

I had told you I wasn't going to run in 2011 but you manipulated me to run; that was my mistake.  Losing was a blessing.  As usual you wanted me to run for your self-serving purpose to perpetuate your name in the political realm and as the liar that you are, you later denied that it was you who wanted me to run in 2011.

In 2003 I ran because I wanted to and I thought getting to the central government I will be able to contribute more to improving lives and working on legislation that impacts the country. I found that nothing gets done; every public official in Nigeria is working for himself and no one really is serving the public or the country.

The whole system, including the public themselves want oppressors, not people working for their collective progress. When no one is planning the future of a country, such a country can have no future.   I won't be your legacy, let your legacy be Nigeria in the fractured state you created because, it was always your way or the highway.

This is the end of my communication with you for life. I pray Nigeria survives your continual intervention in its affairs.

Sincerely,
Iyabo Obasanjo, DVM, PhD

Student Shares His ‘Encounter With A Ghost’ Story

Posted By: Mercy - 7:04 AM

I am not so sure how to put this, but I have been very terrified since waking up at 4:21am. I feel I was haunted, I feel my room is haunted.

I feel there's been a paranormal activity in my room.. I am 18yrs old, and here's my little story to share.. I knw well abt sleep paralysis, but this is something really strange, as I have never seen a thing like this..

So I was asleep, during my rapid eye motion, I was just dreaming.

I dunno if something was trying to give me a sign – in my dream, it was me and a girl, we were walking down the street, then we passed a place were idols are kept, then all of a sudden I woke up from my dream.

I couldn't see a thing in my room, becos my light was off, and it was pitch black in my room, then all of a sudden, I heard something drop on the floor.

So I thought it was just some pest running in my room, but no, the sound increased, and things were dropping in ryhthm, then it felt like someone was vomiting in my room, I couldn't see a thing.

I thought it was my brother, becos he was playing game in my room before I slept.. I called at my brother's name "Eseosa", I called again, there was no answer, and the sound kept on..

It scared the hell out of me, then I heard footsteps in my room. I am not making this up. I swear I heard it in my room.

There's a carpet in my room, so I can hear the lightest footsteps, then the footsteps were going to the direction of my shelf, I adjusted my position in my bed, trying to see through this, but everywhere was so dark, then suddenly, I heard someone pick up something from my shelf, I started calling my brother again, but no answer..

Then I heard something drop again, and I felt the footstep moving towards my bed, I swear I could feel the presence..
I was so terrified, I lay down still, trying to stop my breath, then the footstep approached me closer but stopped..

Then a little white light began to appear, I have never been this scared, I heard my door open, I became so afraid, I closed my eyes and said "pls GOD forgive me my sins" I said the prayer like it was my last..

Then I suddenly sprang to my feet and ran away frm my room, with heavy breathing.. I went to my brother's room to find him sleeping.. I went to get a light from his room, then I remained calm, then I decided to go back to my room, but I was really hesistant, hmm then I managed to go back with enough light, but I saw nothing hmmm, pls is my room haunted??

Today I will ask my grandmum if anyone has lived in my room before or if anyone that lived in my room has died.. I feel this room is haunted.. Please if u have had any experience, Please share.. Cos I cant continue to sleep with these things in my head.. Please.

UPDATE: Hmmm, I asked my grandmum today..
And she said my uncle who died early this year was the first person to live in that room.. I'll just bless the room in Jesus name.. And I don't believe the dead has got anything to do with the living.. Btw, I still suspect sleep paralysis.. GOD help me.

Doctors to begin nationwide strike December 18, 2013

Posted By: Mercy - 6:54 AM

Doctors in public hospitals are set to begin a nationwide strike on December 18 following the expiration of a December 14 deadline give to the federal government by the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).

According to NMA president, Dr. Osahon Enabulele, the strike will first be for 5 days because of the Christmas celebrations, but will continue indefinitely after the Yuletide.

He said: "For over five months, NMA has engaged the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Health, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on issues bordering on some health sector challenges, workplace conditions and the conditions of service of doctors."

Dana airlines may resume operations soon

Posted By: Mercy - 6:46 AM

The NCAA said it was satisfied of the airline.

Dana Airlines may soon resume normal operations, as the audit of its operations by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, in the wake of last year's crash has been concluded.

NCAA said on Sunday in a statement by its spokes person, Fan Ndubuoke, that the Director-General of the agency, Fola Akinkuotu, has described the audit concluded on Friday, December 13, 2013 as good and healthy.

The audit, which involved the NCAA Flight Standard Group in conjunction with their foreign partners, was also said to have been painstaking, professional and transparent.

Mr. Akinkuotu said the NCAA would soon meet with Dana Air officials to review and come to agreement their action plan for closing "open items", while consultations would also be made to determine a possible date for the resumption of flight operations by the airline.

Mr. Akinkuotu said that henceforth the audit would be an annual exercise for all airlines, including Dana Air, pointing out that the essence of the audit was to ensure safety in the sky and also to avoid hitches in flight operations.

NCAA ordered the suspension of Dana Airline's operations in October to enable it carry out a comprehensive audit of the airline.

Actress, Fathia Balogun recently claimed that her ex-husband and actor, Saheed Balogun is suing her over use of his surname.

The actor has admitted that they indeed are in court but it has nothing to do with the surname. He also released a press statement which made it clear that he only has TWO children with his ex-wife and not three, as people believed. Saheed Balogun made it known that he did not father Fathia Balogun's first child.

Read his statement below;

Yesterday I was accused of lying to the press on a recent rumor that has been circulating. I separated from my ex-wife Fathia Balogun in 2006, over 7 years ago. Since we were LEGALLY MARRIED IN COURT, we had to LEGALLY DIVORCE IN COURT to finalize the issue. The public is welcome to go to the Lagos High Court to verify these records. This has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY NAME! I AM NOT ASKING OR FORCING FATHIA TO STOP USING THE NAME BALOGUN, as it is one of the most common Yoruba names.

Furthermore, to set the record straight, Fathia and I had TWO children together NOT THREE. Fathia's first child is from a different husband that she later divorced before we were married.
I never lied to anyone. Journalists presented me with a rumor that had no basis in fact, so I simply stated that I DO NOT WANT MY PRIVATE LIFE MADE PUBLIC. IT IS MY PRIVACY AND CONCERNS NOBODY. I decided to stay quiet as the two parties involved in this issue are over 40 years old, and I think we are old enough to handle this issue MATURELY instead of turning our private matters into a public gossip debate.

I hope this issue is now clarified for the public, as I SAIDI BALOGUN am divulging the true facts myself instead of using a MISINFORMED publicist to do so for me. There are so many positive aspects of Nigeria's entertainment industry, we would rather focus on negative meaningless noise instead of these positive components.

PLEASE GIVE ME THE RESPECT OF KEEPING MY PERSONAL LIFE PRIVATE AND OUT OF THE PUBLIC EYE. I AM FOCUSING ON MY WORK. THANK YOU!

Senator Yerima divorces 17year old Egyptian wife, marries another 15year old

Three years after marrying a 14 year old Egyptian girl named Marian, which was widely protested in Nigeria, former Zamfara state governor and serving senator of the federal republic of Nigeria, Senator Yerima, has reportedly divorced her to marry a new wife, City People reports. According to the magazine, Yerima and four men, said to be members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly were in Egypt a few weeks ago for the wedding fathia of a new bride said to be 15 years old.

Marian who is now 17 and a mother of one, is believed to be the daughter of the former governor's driver whenever he visits Egypt. The reason he divorced her is to enable him take a new wife as he's not allowed more than four wives. The new wife is also Egyptian.

The Senator is alleged to have married and divorced a few women in the last few years but has never changed his first three wives, only the fourth ones.

Sen. Ahmed Yerima this year was strongly against the deletion of the section of the 1999 constitution which pegged the official marriage age in Nigeria as 18 years, saying it was anti-Islam.

Impeach Jonathan now, APC tells National Assembly

Posted By: Mercy - 8:48 AM

The All Progressives Congress, APC, Nigeria's biggest opposition party, has urged the National Assembly to rise beyond partisanship and save Nigeria from imminent collapse by immediately kick-starting the process of impeaching President Goodluck Jonathan for gross misconduct.

In a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday by its Interim National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the party said it was issuing the call with a high sense of responsibility and the strong belief that the impeachment of the president is a legitimate constitutional option available to the National Assembly not only to protect the nation's democracy but also to ensure the country's unity.

"Our country is drifting dangerously and our people are divided now perhaps more than at any other point in our history, with the exception of the civil war period.

There is a total failure of leadership, even as insecurity, unprecedented corruption, palpable impunity, massive unemployment and hunger stalk the land," the party said.

The opposition party said the real essence of government is the security and welfare of the citizenry, explaining that the Nigerian government, under Mr. Jonathan has failed to live up to the justification of its existence.

"There can be no other definition of gross misconduct than that," it said.
The APC warned that if the National Assembly failed to act very fast, it would share with the 'clueless and feckless' Jonathan administration the eternal blame for bringing to naught the hard work of the nation's heroes past and for crashing and dashing the hopes of millions of Nigerians, especially the youth who are the leaders of tomorrow.

The party said it is necessary for anyone who might say the call for the impeachment of president Jonathan is outlandish to remember that all it takes to ruin the country's democracy is for "this increasingly-paranoid government to get a pliant judge to put a judicial stamp on just one of its litany of illegalities, thus setting the country ablaze."

The statement adds that "there are many such judges as we can see by some recent events, despite our warnings that the efforts of the current CJN to clean up the judiciary must not be sabotaged by a few pliant judges."

"One such scenario is the present challenge in court by the PDP of the defection to the APC of five state governors. The PDP has gone to court fully aware of the ruling of the Supreme Court after the party-PDP- attempted to make then Vice President Atiku Abubakar to lose his seat and to also strip him of his privileges following his defection to the ACN."

The party warned of "widespread repercussions" if the PDP goes ahead with its move.

"The APC has resolved that henceforth, every act of impunity of the PDP and the presidency will be met with stiff resistance in the form of a vociferous telegraphing of people power, the likes of which have not been witnessed in these parts," the party said in a rare sternly-worded statement.

"We reiterate those words today, and make bold to say that not even the revelation by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, that snipers are being trained secretly and that 1,000 people have been placed on political watch, will deter us from saving this democracy, which was watered by the sweat and blood of many patriots, long before this generation of opportunists stormed the political scene," it said.
