First Picture Of The Nun Who Gave Birth When She Didn't Know She Was Pregnant

Posted By: Official Admin - 5:58 AM

This is the first picture of the 33-year-old nun and new mother Sister Roxana Rodriguez who gave birth to a baby boy last week without knowing she was even pregnant. Read the story here if you missed it.

Her picture was published in the Italian daily newspaper Corriere Della Sera, who have carried out an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the birth of her baby Francis. Findings reveal that the father of her baby is an old flame of hers from when she was younger and the man is not even aware he now has a
son.

Sister Roxana claims she feels no guilt for her act but she knows she has incured the anger of her superiors, and fellow nuns at her convent. So, she has written an apology letter to her convent's Mother Superior general Elvira Petaraca - the woman who in September she solemnly promised to follow her vows of 'chastity, poverty and obedience', the three main pillars of the Little Disciples of Jesus Order.

One nun who answered the telephone at the convent, when she was asked if the nuns would visit Sister Roxana at the hospital, said:

'No we must certainly not be going to visit her. What she has done is not right at all. She has betrayed her vows. She will not be coming back here.'

"Today's Nollywood Is In A Disgraceful State..It's Sickening " - Clarion Chukuwrah

Veteran actress & mother of star director Clarence Peters spoke to Vanguard about her disappointment with today's Nollywood

"It hasn't improved at all. It is now a proverbial ' state' that makes one to weep. Everything has fallen to a disgraceful state. No standards are left. I was on a location in Enugu last month and the production manager was insulting the director of photographer. I was shocked.

The producer and the director were shouting at each other. I could not imagine it. The artistic director would just walk away and actors are not directed on what to do.  Any green horn could hit the set and believe that she could sleep her way to the top. She is pretty and sleeps with the Executive Producer. It's just sickening. And they say to you, this movie is meant for the market and the cinema. It is not for film festival, just do it anyhow because this is for inside the market. That goes to show there are no standards. It is pathetic."

Are you not thinking of marriage
Give me a break. Please don't ask. Don't go there. Please spare me

Man Receives 20 Lashes For Being Gay In Bauchi - BBC Report

Posted By: Official Admin - 8:42 PM

According to a report by the BBC, a 20 year old man in Bauchi received 20 lashes seven years after he stopped being g*y. For real? My head hurts from reading all these.

Report below.

A Nigerian man has received 20 lashes after an Islamic court in the northern city of Bauchi convicted him of homos*xual offences.

Under Islamic law, courts can punish homos*xual acts by stoning to death.

But the judge said he took into account that the Muslim man, Mubarak Ibrahim, 20, carried out the acts seven years ago, and had stopped the practice.

In Nigeria, homos*xual acts are illegal under both Islamic and secular law and restrictions have been tightened.

Earlier this month, President Goodluck Jonathan signed into law a bill which bans same-s*x marriages, g*y groups and shows of same-s*x public affection.

The new legislation applies throughout Nigeria.
Most states in the predominantly Muslim north of Nigeria have adopted Islamic law, known as Sharia, since the end of military rule in 1999.

Along with Mr Ibrahim, 11 other Muslims and a Christian man were arrested last month accused by the authorities of being homos*xuals.

He was also ordered to pay a fine of about $30 (£18).

Mr Ibrahim told the BBC he was relieved that Judge Nuhu Muhammad had been lenient on him and had not sentenced him to death.

The BBC's Ishaq Khalid was in court when Mr Ibrahim was lashed with a whip, made of animal skin smeared with oil.

Mr Ibrahim, who had pleaded guilty to the charge, was ordered to lie on a bench, and an official whipped his back in front of a packed courtroom, our correspondent says.

Mr Ibrahim screamed in pain while being lashed, but was able to walk afterwards, he adds.

The trial of two other men was adjourned to 23 January.

The fate of the nine other men arrested on the same charge is unclear but on Wednesday the Sharia Commission in Bauchi said the Christian would be tried by a "conventional court", not an Islamic court.
