Schools Shut As Protests Continue In Kano

Irate youth opposed to the emergence of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the 14th Fulani emir of Kano took to the streets Monday morning forcing the closure of private and public schools.

The youth in their hundreds set bonfire on Emir palace road holding green leaves while chanting "bamuayi"

A number of schools remain shut in the city while additional security was noticed in banks premises as city dwellers avoided the streets.
