Prophet Alex Alatan of the Celestial Church of Christ,
Freedom Parish, in Benin, Edo state, urged President Goodluck Jonathan
to be careful with “actions and utterances”.
The church founder also said that based on what he heard from God, Jonathan would win the polls. He added, however, that the president should “rebuke the spirit of doubt”. Otherwise, dangerous development is possible in the country, the clergyman said.
Alatan was quoted as saying by Daily Independent:
“God is also warning those around the president, his trusted
allies, and advisers to tread with caution in their actions and
utterances, so as not to cause avoidable problems in the country.
“Should they fail to desist, I see the military being pushed to take over the reins of governance once again and the consequence would be unpleasant and devastating for Nigeria and her people.
“It would thereafter be difficult to prevail on them to return the country to democracy. With their actions and utterances, they are inadvertently inviting the military to take over reins of power, contrary to the will of God.
“So this is warning the ruling party, the PDP, they should remove fear from their heart. God has said President Jonathan would again be elected only if he could remove fear of losing the contest from his mind.
“He should rebuke the spirit of doubt from his mind. Before any election is held, it has already taken place in the spiritual realm and it has been confirmed spiritually that President Jonathan would win.
“So, the PDP should be warned; they are trying to cause problem in this great country especially the presidential campaign organisation spokesperson. The military are annoyed with him. That is what the spirit of God said.
“Satan is using some persons in the inner circle of the party negatively to truncate the chances of Jonathan and possibly cause problem in the country.”
It is worth mentioning that a lot of clerics have been providing their vision regarding the outcome of the polls. In one of the recent developments Apostle B.B. Frederick, a renowned Ghanaian pastor, prophesied victory for Goodluck Jonathan.
Lagos prophet Paul Okikijesu insisted that Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, will win on March 28 only if he “surrenders his heart” to him.
Interestingly, many clerics warned the politicians about the possibility of violent actions in the post-election period.
Meanwhile the International Criminal Court started investigation in to the matter filed by the All Progressives Congress. The opposition accused Goodluck Jonathan’s wife of trying to incite violence with her statements.
The APC wrote to the international body after Dame Patience had told Nigerians to “stone” anyone who mentions “change” (the word associated with the slogan of the opposition campaign).
