In preparation for the proud entry of president-elect,
General Muhammadu Buhari into the straggling Aso Presidential Villa on
May 29, the outgoing president, Goodluck Jonathan has relocated to the
Glass House.
This comes after media reports earlier indicated that the president and his wife have moved their personal belongings out of the official residence to their Otuoke, Bayelsa State residence following General Buhari’s victory at the polls.
In a report published by The Nation, an Aso Rock insider said; “I can confirm to you that most of the first family’s property have left the State House.
“The President is now staying in the Glass House with very few belongings.
“Intensive renovation of the President’s residence is going on now. Minor repairs are going on in some parts of the house. Cleaning and repainting of the entire residence with white paint is in progress.”
It was also gathered that the furniture and colour painting renovation of the main official residence, will however commence when the next occupant (General Buhari) moves in.
According to the source, Gen. Buhari will be the one to determine the kind of furniture he wants.
Meanwhile, 41-year-old former House of Representative member, Dino Melaye has pointed accusing fingers at President Jonathan saying he promoted corruption on a high pedestal thereby making his government the most corrupt one in the history of Nigeria.
