Segun Okeowo led the 'Ali must go' protest.
A former president of the National Association of Nigeria Students, NANS, Segun Okeowo, is dead.
Mr. Okeowo led nationwide students protest against the Olusegun Obasanjo-led military government in the late 1970s during the famous 'Ali Must Go' era.
He died at about 6.30 a.m. on Tuesday at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, at the age of 73.
His son, Kolade Segun-Okeowo, confirmed the death to PREMIUM TIMES, saying he was rushed to the hospital following a heart related ailment.
