Don't call me General again, just call me Muhammadu Buhari

He rode to victory at the last general election with the acronym, GMB (General Muhammadu Buhari) but he now wants to be addressed differently - President Muhammadu Buhari.



To this end, the official portraits of Nigeria’s president-elect and his vice-president, have been unveiled by their media team in Abuja. And after being sworn in on 29 May, General Buhari will want to be addressed simply as:

Muhammadu Buhari, President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria.

His deputy will be addressed as Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
