The cleric, kidnapped on September 6 was freed on Saturday night.
Ignatius Kattey, the Anglican Archbishop who was kidnapped in Rivers State has been freed.
Mr. Kattey, who is the Dean of the Anglican Communion in Nigeria, was freed on Saturday night, the church has said.
The Archdeacon of Eleme Archdeaconry of the Anglican Church, Israel Omisioni, confirmed the release of Mr. Kattey to PMNEWS.
It is, however, not clear if any ransom was paid for the release.
The cleric was kidnapped on September 6 in Eleme, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, while his wife Beatrice, who was also initially abducted was promptly released.
President Goodluck Jonathan had last week while addressing Anglican clerics promised that the government would do all it can to ensure Mr. Kattey's release.
